Gold and violet dance across the crystal’s polished surface echoing the colours of dawn and dusk entwined. Though delicate in size, it hums faintly with mysterious power.

Made with: Violet/gold Dichroic glass (in the light this glass transmits yellow gold and reflects violet).

Dichroic glass is glass which can display multiple colours depending on the lighting conditions. It is produced by stacking layers of glass with micro layers of quartz crystal and metal oxides.

'Transmitted colour' is the colour seen in a clear piece of glass when it is looked through.
'Reflected colour' is the colour seen when the light bounces off the surface of glass.

Additional information: This piece has been designed to hang in the corner of a window, doorway or bookshelf. You will require two small cup hooks to hang this piece (hooks not included, unable to post).

All items receive a final clean and buff before being packaged.

Materials

Stained glass art is made with materials that contain lead. It
is only harmful if ingested or inhaled. All solder lines are coated with a protective wax however it is recommended to wash your hands after handling your art piece as a precaution. Stained glass art is fragile and not made to be handled excessively.

Stained glass pieces are made with the following:
- Glass
- Copper foil
- 60/40 solder (60% tin, 40% lead)
- Patina
- Protective wax

All pieces are hung with either a hand tied faux leather cord
(smaller pieces) or crimped Black Tiger Tail 0.38mm (larger pieces – break strain 5kg) depending on the weight.

Disclaimer

Stained glass art is handmade and therefore not perfect. All
glass is hand cut, foiled, soldered and finished by Dark South Designs and I work hard to create high quality items at all times. Considering each item is handmade, blemishes or slight variations in the patina finish may be noticed upon close inspection. If there are any concerns with an item, I will include a list as part of the description for your consideration.

Each glass piece is coated with a protective wax to slow the
natural oxidisation over time of the metals and finishes used to create them. The wax slows down the process however this is a natural ccurrence that will happen. To prevent this, polish your pieces intermittently by following the care instructions provided. This is a natural process and not a fault with the item.
